Michael Bianchi

Born in New York City, lives in Paris

Michael Bianchi, encouraged by Dan Christoffel, his art teacher at junior high school, wanted to pursue a career as a painter when he was twelve. He recalls this moment “as if a lock opened in my mind” and started to draw. He enrolled at Art Students league of New York and studied with painters such as Harvey Dinnenstein, Jerome Witkin, and Raphael Soyer. After a Major in Communications from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor of Fine Arts, he turned to the NYC underground music scene. Being very curious of different medias he went into film and became one of the most sought after Flame special FX artists, working for Robert Frank, Jean Paul Goode, David Lynch, and David LaChapelle, to name only a few. Even though in his work career he has used many cutting edge technologies, oil painting has always been a consistent form of expression for Michael.
